UNI JPEC OEI Suite Update

The John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center at the University of Northern Iowa recently sent out an update about the occupant of the OEI suite at their center.

A graduate of OEI in 2016, Scott Burak just graduated from the University of Northern Iowa this year. He has been occupying the OEI suite at the UNI John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center for the last two years. Burak is the co-founder of AdFly, LLC, which is a business that focuses on website design, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and social media, and Pay-Per-Click services for small and family-owned businesses. Scott is thankful for being a part of the OEI program, and it left a lasting impression. “The community and program you offer to engaged students is something I’ll never forget about my own college experience,” he said in a thank you to OEI.

The current business owner occupying the suite is now Nathan Krieps. Krieps is a co-founder of Iowa Chill, which is a social media platform and entertainment company. Krieps is a 2018 OEI alum, and the other founders are all OEI alumni as well (Bryce Bortscheller and Scott Burak in 2016 and Darian Jones in 2015).

OEI students from the University of Northern Iowa this year included Elizabeth Brimeyer, Nolan Bulver, Gabe Groothuis, David Confrst, Nathan Krieps, TJ Nissen, Will Poffenberger, and Emily Temeyer.

Nissen placed 2nd in the business pitch competition at OEI, and Temeyer and Poffenberger were each on one of the winning business simulation teams.
