OEI 2019: Thank you!

The 14th year of the Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute was another success, and it could not happened with out the help of the many individuals involved. From host families, to speakers and faculty, to sponsors, the Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute and the Iowa Lakes Corridor Development Corporation would like to thank everyone who had a hand in another successful year!

Thank you to the five schools who choose some of their most amazing entrepreneurial-minded students up to the lakes for the week: Buena Vista University, Iowa Lakes Community College, Iowa State University, University of Iowa and University of Northern Iowa. And to the students from these institutions: we are so glad you came! Thank you for being a part of another memorable and successful week of learning and fun.

The host families always make the biggest impact on the students, and we are so thankful to all of our hosts that open up their homes to allow students to stay with them and be a part of their lives for a week. Having students stay with hosts throughout the region really makes them feel like they are a part of the community rather than just a visitor. Thank you for making this experience so unique!

The staff and faculty facilitate all of the simulation sessions and many of the speaker and panelist talks. Without these individuals, OEI would not be the place of learning that it really is. So thank you David Hensley (University of Iowa), Laurie Watje (UNI), and Bob Walker (University of Iowa) for the work you put in to teach the students.

And of course, to all of the sponsors that make it possible to bring 32 college students to the Iowa Great Lakes, thank you. Without the generous financial support of local businesses and individuals, this life-changing event would not be possible.
