The fifteenth year of Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute wrapped up last week, and there are so many people to thank for making another successful year possible!
First of all, we want to thank the sponsors who invest their resources into the OEI program without the financial support of these businesses and individuals, we would be unable to provide a free experience for the OEI students.
Secondly, the Lakes Life experience provided to the OEI students is made that much more authentic because of the wonderful host families that open their homes to these students and show them what life can be like in the Iowa Lakes Corridor Region. Thank you, host families:
- Steve & Lori Boote
- Neal & Kitty Conover
- Al & Barb Giese
- Jim & Tresa Hussong
- Ken & Vickie Kemna
- Mark & Brenda Olson
- Austin Peterson
- Dr. Bill & Sally Phelps
- Dave & Melissa Sly
- Bruce & LuAnn Tamisiea
We also want to thank the five universities that participate and send 4-8 of their top entrepreneurial- and business-minded students each year: Buena Vista University, Iowa Lakes Community College, Iowa State University, University of Iowa and University of Northern Iowa. OEI faculty David Hensley (University of Iowa), Laurie Watje (UNI) and Bob Walker (University of Iowa) are all instrumental in the students’ success through the business simulation and support throughout the week.
